Girls and cakes are hard to separate them apart...  Me and Little T in the cake shop are like kids in mega toy store.  We got mesmerised by all the lovely cakes and patisseries that were hand crafted by the skillful patissiers.  We found a beautifully done cake is like piece of art, it has its own story to tell.

It has been a while since Little T and I have my mind set on going to get my sticky fingers on to LuxBite's cake slices and macarons.  Finally, the day has come, me and my foodie buddy had set our journey to fill our guts full with sweet stuff.  It was a late afternoon and as we aniticipated, the shop was packed with sweet-teeth/ sweet crazy people like us.  The staff told us we were welcomed to do take away or waited if we want a table, so we left our name and number there.  Ten minutes later, a sweet signal was given, we got the table, hoorah! that wasn't a long wait at all.

Inside LuxBite, it was like a sweet heaven, everywhere we looked, there were cakes and colourful macarons, the cafe was filled with happiness from the patrons.  Since we went there quite late afternoon, couple of cake slices were sold out, so we didn't get a chance to try them. But hey, LuxBite still had more cake slices to offer! Since we wanted something out of ordinary, we ordered couple of desserts that weren't found at other cafe, plus couple more of the macarons to try.  Drinks, we settled with a latte ($3.50) and Orchid Vanilla tea ($4.50), glad to know that they used coffee beans from Toby's Estate, made me feel a bit closer to Sydney :).  Orchid Vanilla tea was served in a clear glass cup, when hot water was poured over, you could see the tea slowly infused and created a nice layer and colour.
The cakes showtime had arrived, the two beautiful cakes were served on our table, there were Epic Chocolate Cravings and Supersized Love.  The Epic Chocolate Cravings was a rectangle shaped chocolate cake slice with the hazelnut crust as a based and topped with salted caramel chocolate ball.  The cake was rich and smooth like a really thick dark chocolate mousse, with a crunchy hazelnut base.  The chocolate was slowly melted in the mouth and left the bitterness of dark chocolate linger in the mouth.

Now come the star of the table, the Supersized Love.  I love how they named this cake, it is indeed matched the cake, especially if you love ferrero rocher to your heart content, this cake is a definitely supersized love for you!  The slightly chewy macaron shells lookalike went well with the hazelnut filling inside.  It was a love at first bite moment for me.  The crunchiness of roasted hazelnuts, hazelnut filling much like nutella and the smoothness of hazelnut cream along with the slightly chewy shell, made me felt like I was eating a mega ferrero ball and made me crave for more.

We ordered five macarons from twelve macarons, more or less, that they have on offer.  Again, we picked for some new flavour ones, there were Watermelon Yoghurt, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Salted Caramel, Creme Brulee and O-O-Oreo.  The way they were presented were a little simple, they were stacked up and put on a round plate.  I wished they have a nicer plate to served the colourful macarons, it would made them look even tastier.  The filling inside the Peanut Butter and Jelly was - just like its name - peanut butter and jelly, what can you expect, right?

Salted Caramel was tasty, but the shell was a little bit dry and the filling was a bit heavy on salt scale.  Compared LuxBite's version of Salted Caramel to Zumbo's Salted Caramel, we preferred the latter as the taste was more well-combined. Creme Brulee was good, but if we didn't know that it was a Creme Brulee, we wouldn't be able to tell since the taste of the creme brulee filling was quite mild.  However, the macaron shells of this one was pretty good, not dry like its sibling - the Salted Caramel.  A bite into the O-O-Oreo was like a bite of a real oreo cookie, they have done an awesome job of capturing the taste of oreo cooking into the macaron.  After tasting the four, the intriguingly colourful looking macaron left on the plate, the Watermelon Yoghurt.  At first glance, we knew exactly that it was the Watermelon macaron, the watermelon yoghurt was sandwiched in between the green and red shells with the sesame seeds sprinkled on the top.  I had to say that this is the tastiest macaron that we had among all five, the degree of sweetness was just right and the smell of it made you felt like you were having a watermelon.

We were lost with time while enjoying the lovely creative cakes and well created macarons, by the time we left, it was quite late.  On the re-visited trip next time, we will definitely go there early so we will get to try other creative cakes from LuxBite.
